About UsOur family-operated bungalow is literally 5 steps from the water... walking down a set of stairs from the big airy common room, you are right on the beach and ready to launch into some of the most beautiful snorkeling you have ever seen!
There are two bedrooms, each with a double-bed, bedside table, mosquito netting, writing table and chair. A single bed can be added if required. Each bedroom has two large windows looking right out over the water, and if you leave your door open, the whole wall turns into a panorama of the sea. The walls are woven bamboo and the roof is thatched palm. The big common room is ideal for reading and relaxing, with a big rattan table for common meals and storian. A kitchen is available (gas stove only, no refrigeration) if you would like to cook for yourself, but don't miss the opportunity to sample the gorgeous island food lovingly prepared by the family. We can usually source fresh fish and meat and always fruits and vegetables if you provide your meal preferences to us in advance. Breakfast is included in the room rate, lunch and dinner are a la carte. The toilet and bathroom use water pumped from a nearby well, drinking water is pure from rainwater tanks and very safe. Would you like to help me in the garden? Learn how to weave a basket or mat? Just relax and read... your level of activity is up to you! The Neighborhood The 12 villages on Nguna are stunning. You will have free access to walk on any of the main roads on the whole island. If you would like to go bush-hiking we will arrange a guide as there are some sacred taboo areas which even we are not allowed to visit! Taloa Village will be your home while staying at Island Breeze. The village itself was formed in 1872 when the Scottish Presbyterian missionary first arrived on the island. You will see how well organized it is, with each yard perfectly aligned and fringed with fences of flowers. Not to miss one of the last standing traditional nakamal meeting houses in Vanuatu (which survived Category 5 cyclone Pam in 2015) and the presbyterian mission church. Eles Primary school is only a few minutes from the bungalow and so you will be surrounded by friends when school lets out. |
